according to the statistics issued by china national intellectual property administration (cnipa), in 2021, china granted 696,000 invention patents. the number of high-value invention patent which owned by per 10,000 people stood at 7.5. the pct applications filed by chinese applicants retained top for three consecutive years in the world, reaching 69,500.
